Harken, Micro cam cleat - Replacement cam spring

Harken, Micro cam cleat - Replacement cam spring

On a Harken equipped ILCA one of these cleats is found on the lower vang assembly & two are mounted on the deck cleat mounting plate, one for the outhaul & one for the Cunningham/downhaul. In addition some boats have two of these cleats mounted on the side decks for cleating the mainsheet (this was once common practice but few boats are fitted with them now because most sailors use more vang & play the mainsheet constantly).

The Harken Micro cam cleat is usually very reliable & any problems are usually resolved by making sure that the securing bolts or screws are not too tight, cleaning &/or lubricating.

However, should the springs closing the cams weaken or fail then replacing them is a relatively easy task.

Each cam has one spring so two springs per cleat.
